Discover Lesotho – Maletsunyane Falls, Semonkong

Episode 6 of Discover Lesotho – Abelanang Basotho Teyateyaneng

In this episode of Discover Lesotho Mapule takes us to Teyateyaneng (T.Y.) Handicrafts that create memorable traditional Lesotho crafts. Local weaving groups formed “Abelanang Basotho” which means “lets share” and they take the product to market for the weavers. They use local mohair from the farmers in the area and they work it all the way to the final product. Every product is done passionately by hand and they include wall hangings, tapestries, rugs, scrafs and cushion covers to mention a few. All of the products tell a story.

Episode 5 of Discover Lesotho – Maliba Lodge

In this episode of Discover Lesotho Mochochonono and Palesa take us to Maliba Lodge in the Leribe District. The name of this paradise lodge is means place of water. it is the only five star lodge in Lesotho. There are 6 rooms that include a honeymoon suite. There are also self-catering units available. This Afro-asian style lodge was built by 75% staff, most of the interior was imported from Bali and the exterior came from the surrounding areas and environment. A variety of local and international guest visit Maliba Lodge and even royalty as the King of Lesotho has stayed there before. You can expect to enjoy delicious food, local singing, winter snow, hiking and horse trails. Palesa also is lucky enjoy to an meal prepared by Sous chef Andrew using local trout.
